He was predeceased by: his spouse Marcene Adams Roberts; his parents, Smiley Whitaker and Joe Edith Melton McCormick; his grandson Bobby Doyle Roberts, Jr.; and his daughter-in-law Kristin Roberts.
He is survived by: his children, Billy Ray Roberts (Denise) of Lugoff, Christopher Saul Roberts of Oceanside, CA, Joey L. Roberts, Sr. of Lugoff, B. Doyle Roberts (Sylvia) of Lexington and Jamie Dean Roberts of Lugoff; and his siblings, Crawford Whitaker (Vivian), Judy Carter (Andy) and Barbara Belk. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to International Praise Church of God.
