He was predeceased by: his spouse Donnie Ruth Scruggs; his parents, Wiley Hugh Scruggs and Ora Edna Eubanks Smith; his stepparents, Maxine Scruggs and Bennie Smith; his son Steven Elliott Scruggs; and his brothers, James L. Scruggs, William E. Scruggs and Wayne Scruggs.
He is survived by: his children, Alan Keith Scruggs (Jennifer) of St. Stephens, Ala., Lezli Scruggs Rabon (Tim) of Lugoff and Jennifer Scruggs Outlaw (Allen) of Lugoff; his brother Norman Hugh Scruggs (Loretta) of Orange Beach, Ala.; his grandchildren, Tyler McElveen, William Wesley Scruggs, Elliott Rabon, Emalie-Kate Rabon, Maddi Rabon, Aubrey Rabon, Jordan "JoJo" Rabon, Amanda West and Drey Brooks; and his great grandchildren, Easton Rabon, Greyson McElveen, Harper Collins, Brynlee Stephens and Banks Stephens.
Memorials may be made to Lugoff First Baptist Church.
