He was predeceased by: his parents, Hampton Smoak and Minnie Stroble Smoak; and his siblings, Elizabeth Turner, Lillian Parler, Benton Smoak, Hamp Smoak, Jr. and Grover Smoak.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Vivian Smoak; his children, David Smoak, Pamela Rehm (John) of Loris, SC and Michael Smoak (Marsha) of Prosperity, SC; his grandchildren, Mikey Smoak (Lisa), Bryan Smoak (Bianca), Katelyn Boehm (Shaun), Aubrey Jones (Chandler) and Ricky Summers; his great grandchildren, Gracie, Lydia, Laramie, Faith and Lauren; his great great grandchild Hazel; and his sister Gladys Ruple.
