She was predeceased by: her mother Lula Bell Raymond Benton. She is survived by: her father Senis Gerald Hodges; her children, Sheena Hernandez-Ryan (Fidel), Mark Groves (Jessica), Justin Groves, Jenifer Spires (Carlton) and Beth Groves (Lewis); her sisters, Lynn Wyman and Melissa Piper; and her stepfather Wayne Benton. She is also survived by six grandchildren as well as nieces, a nephew, and a host of cousins.
