He was predeceased by: his father Oliver Lewis Carter; and his sister Terri. He is survived by: his mother Caroline Marie Peterson Sweat; his children, Christopher Newsome, Courtney Carter Landel (Bradley) and Brittney Alich (Christopher); his grandchildren, Emmitt Landel and Addilyn Landel; and his sister Pat Carter Parker.
