He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Watson and Hancie Richardson Watson; and his grandson Heath Watson (Bill). He is survived by: his daughter Susan Stoffel (Cary); his grandchildren, Mark Stoffel (Kimberly), Megan Stokes (Brandon) and Samantha Watson; his great grandchildren, Riley Dorman, Rosie Stokes, Lyla Stoffel, Ely Doyle, Watson Stokes and Grayson Brown; his wife Patricia Allen Watson; his son William S. Watson, Jr.; and his siblings, Walker Watson and Carolyn Anderson.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Watson's name to Little River United Methodist Church or Horry County Children's Home.
