He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryant M. Harkey and Betty Carpenter Harkey; and his siblings, Charles, Ralph Harkey and Barbara Britt.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Harkey of Lincolnton and Tim Harkey of Atlanta, GA; his brother Ted Harkey of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Mekenzie, Madison, Joshua, Jacob and Jonathan. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Covenant Church (2168 Gastonia Hwy, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
