He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Murdaugh and Dorothy Mae Rosenbloom (Murdaugh); and his uncle Reese. He is survived by: his wife Vivian Frear; his sons, Reese D. Murdaugh of Richmond and Marshall J. Murdaugh of Middletown; his stepsons, Matthew House of Las Vegas, Clayton House of Felton and Joseph Frear of Magnolia; his grandchildren, Tyler, Julia, Whitney, John, Joan and Jack; and his friend Cinnaminson N. J.. He is also survived by his wife, family, grandchildren and special friends.

Murdaugh was a national advocate for amateur sports and served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the United States Amateur Boxing Foundation.
