He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendel Russ and Virginia Goldsberry Russ. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his daughters, Bridgett Browning (Jerry), Laura Murgia (Ralph) and Melissa (Lawrence); his grandchildren, Jamie, Tamra, Courtney, Charles, Lawrence, Trinity, Desiree and Nicki; and his sisters, Patricia Calvert and Cheryl Self (Jim).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to MUSC, Cancer Research.
