He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Brisco and Elsie Finwick Wilkins; his wife Eleanor Elaine Wilkins; and his siblings, Shirley, Blake, Earl (Duke), Tyler and Emily Wilkins Akin.

He is survived by: his sister Althea Wilkins Hinson (Charles); his siblings-in-law, William Akin (Sonny) and Barbara Lorine Wilkins; his niece Mary Tyler Wilkins; and his friend Benjamin Rose. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
