Ernest Edward Truette Jr. Obituary
Ernest Edward Truette Jr, "Earl the Pearl", 70, entered into eternal rest on April 4, 2023. He was born on March 26, 1953 in Charlotte (Mecklenberg County), North Carolina. The youngest son of Ernest Edward and Edna Lucille (Shaw) Truette, now joins them in the arms of the Lord.
Earl was a cherished member of the Grand Strand community for decades. He played with a variety of bands over the course of his life and was known as "Earl the Pearl" by many. He was a long time drummer starting his love of music in his grade school years. In addition to his musical abilities, Earl also held degrees in Psychology and Eastern Religions. He was an avid animal lover and spent many hours outside enjoying his birds and cats from his front porch, where he could also hear the ocean that he so loved. Many memories were made on that porch between he and his friends.
Predeceased by Earl are his dear parents, Ernest Edward and Lucille Truette whom he always spoke so kindly and highly of.
Survivors include his beloved daughter, Madeline-Elaine Lucille (Truette) Sheets and her husband, Alec Chase Sheets; and grandchildren Kamina Katherine and Reese Duncan David Sheets. Earl is also survived by his oldest brother, Benny Edward Truette and his wife Joyce Thomas Truette, and his middle brother, Danny Michael Truette and his wife Linda Bumgardner Truette. Additional family members include his nephews and nieces, Erik Michael Truette and family, Christopher Karl Truette, Elizabeth Dawn Truette and Mary Katherine (Truette) Stephens and family.
Earl leaves behind many family members and friends that will forever miss his infectious positivity and calming nature. Anyone he met will attest to the lasting mark that he left on their lives. Earl brought a great deal of comfort and joy to so many.
The family will receive visitors from Noon until 2:30 pm on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023 at Trinity United Methodist Church in North Myrtle Beach. A private service for family will follow.
