He is survived by: his wife Sheila Rouse Herndon; his children, Deborah Simmons of Missouri, Desiree Herndon of Missouri, Beatrice Gauthier (Mikel) of France, Joseph Herndon, III of Michigan, Lemartt Holman (Katie) of Kansas and Tommy Tran of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Tammie, Antwan, Denny, Wesley, Kodi, Cecile, Oliver, Camilla, Lia, Kali, Ashtin, Georgia, Willa and Myles; his siblings-in-law, Jackie Nedlic (Simeon) of Washington State, Beverly Rouse of California, Bonita Cobb (Robert) of North Carolina, Wanda Anderson of Virginia, Tiesha Rouse of South Carolina and Barney L. Rouse (Margaret) of South Carolina; and his cousin June McCann (Jerry) of Missouri. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
