He was predeceased by: his parents, Pinkney Pedest Mayers, Sr. and Annie Bowers-Mayers; and his daughter Patricia Mayers. He is survived by: the mother of his children Annie Collins of Columbia, SC; his children, James Monroe Mayers, Jr. (Carmen) of Philadelphia, PA, Cynthia M. Mayers of Little Mountain, SC, Zelda A. Mayers-Swann of Philadelphia, PA and Kiara M. Mayers of Little Mountain, SC; his grandchildren, Jeanine Mayers Cooper (Kevin), Terrone D. Mayers (Nicole), Bobby Brown, Jr. (Kimberly), Jaquetta Collins, Latifah Collins, Laswone Anderson, Dishon Anderson, D'Marquet Gilliam, Clarissa Jazzmine Collins, Gregory James Collins, Jr. and Ebony S. Mayers; and his sister Malinda R. Mayers (Isreal) of Little Mountain, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
