He was predeceased by: his parents, William Francis Guthrie, Sr. and Emma Ethel Ledford Guthrie; and his brothers, William Francis Guthrie Jr., Leonard Nathan Guthrie, Grady Bryan Guthrie, Kelvin Isaiah Guthrie, David Samuel Guthrie and James Ellis Ray Guthrie.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie Guthrie; his children, Mark Guthrie (Alison) of Pickens, Lisa Moss (Ty) of Piedmont, Diane Milton (Walter) of Liberty and Jerry Guthrie of Easley; his brother Richard Guthrie (Joyce) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Brandon Guthrie (Suzanne), Destiny Cobb (Jay), Kayla Reese, Emily Arnold (Brady), Milla Blackwelder, Morgan Moss and Junior Guthrie; and his great grandchildren, Finley Cobb, Hank Guthrie, Willow Cobb and Nora Guthrie.
