He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ernest and Louise Perkins Posey; and his brothers, Larry, James, Ronnie and Donnie Posey.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Patterson Posey; his sons, Michael Posey (Kim) of Salem and Kevin Posey (Lisa) of Pendleton; his siblings, Leonard Posey (Edith) of Liberty, Steve Posey (Peggy) of Liberty, Shirley Carver (Bobby) of Liberty and Evelyn Burton (Donald) of Liberty; and his grandchildren, Drew Christian and Keira Christain. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
