He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Sue Holder; his parents, Bruce Holder and Fannie Medlin Holder of Pickens County; his brother Larry C. Holder; and his sister-in-law Ruth H. Holder.

He is survived by: his niece Pat Moody (James); and his nephews, Ken Holder (Sandra) of Greenville and Gary Holder (Sonja) of Greenville.
