With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Essie Jean Holliday of Liberty, South Carolina, who passed away on July 15, 2020 at the age of 83. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Essie Jean Holliday to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Gilstrap and Etta Dickard Gilstrap; and her siblings, Paul Gilstrap and Helen Mahaffey. She is survived by: her husband Jason Walton Holliday; her daughters, Melinda Siefert (Scott) of Taylors, Nancy Smith (Dwayne) of Liberty and Julie Burgess (Tony) of Liberty; her sisters, Evelyn Campbell of Florence and Millie Skinner (Johnny) of Easley; her siblings-in-law, Rabon Holliday (Eleanor) of Easley and Peggy Holliday of Easley; her grandchildren, Jason, Hannah, Sydney, Jared (Allison) and Jamie; her great grandchildren, Jadyn, Bella and Justice; and her close friend Shelly Bowers.
Due to the current COVID-19 health situation and social distancing requirements, those who would like to pay their respects, Mrs. Holliday will lie in state Friday, July 17, 2020 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flat Rock Baptist Church, 115 Slab Bridge Road, Liberty, SC 29657.
