He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Prue Pelfrey and Evelyn Rowland Pelfrey; his sisters, Sheila Anders and Nancy "Mandy" Harless; and his granddaughter Brooke Lester.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne Summerall Pelfrey; his children, Darrell Pelfrey of Liberty, Sammy Ross of Liberty, Carrie Springs (Robert) of Pendleton, Kaye Lester of Pickens and Katrina Spahr of Liberty; and his brothers, Billy Joe Pelfrey of Pickens and Frankie Pelfrey of Easley. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
