He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Herbert Whitman, Sr. and Kathleen Gaines Whitman; and his siblings, Gwen Grant, Robert Wayne Whitman, Roger Whitman, Carl Whitman and Mike Whitman.
He is survived by: his children, Kay Segers (Greg) of Liberty, Charlotte Shirley (Rick) of Six Mile and Dana Stancil of Belton; his siblings, Shirley Bagwell of Gray Court, Reverend Raymond Whitman (Martha) of Six Mile, Gary Whitman (Brenda) of Cleveland, TN, Terry Whitman (Doris) of Lincolnton, NC and Ted Whitman of Piedmont; and his close friends, Toby Owens of Liberty, Judy Atwood of Easley, Leebo Proctor, Stacy Hoots of Liberty and Gavyn Proctor of Liberty. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
