He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlos M. Barwick and Violet Brunson Barwick. He is survived by: his son Rhett Gates Barwick (Tonya Bradley); his grandchildren, Casey Nix and Carlisle Murdaugh Barwick (Hannah); his great grandchild Bryson Lee Henry; his brothers, Bruce Barwick (Brenda) of Sumter, SC and Robert Barwick (Jane Dubose) of Wateree, SC; and his brother-in-law Bill Gates.
