He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Hewett and Ina Lee Rabon Hewett; his sister Percilla "Pat" Wilkins; his parents-in-law, Flint and Lucille Tanner; and his brother-in-law Charles Tanner.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hewett; his children, Amy Fenegan (Timothy) and Ryan Hewett; his grandchildren, Kellan, Bruce, Xander and EllaVive; his brother Dale Hewett; and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Dianne Lewis (Mike) of Hemingway, Lori Poston (Jerry) of Hemingway and Cecelia Tanner of Hemingway.
