He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Allen Ayer and Myrtle Florine Sease Ayer; and his siblings, Stancel, Earl, Sonny, Lyles, James, Carl, Mary Helen Brandt and Dorothy Lehew.
He is survived by: his son Keith Allen Ayer (Kim); his wife Shirley Robertson Ayer of Hendersonville, NC.; his son Mark Ayer (Lorri); his grandsons, Jarrett, Justin, Jayden, Kaleb, Kameron, Eric David and Chris David; and his siblings, Robert Ayer, Sara Rauth and Carolyn Jennings.
