He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Herlong Padgett, Sr. and Janie Kathryn Welch Padgett; his spouse Jackie Lynn Bivens Padgett; and his siblings, David L. Padgett, Sr., Frederick Welch Padgett, Motlena Smith and Marilyn Powell.
He is survived by: his brother Henry Van Padgett, Sr. (Ann) of Columbia; and his sisters-in-law, Linda (David, Sr) and Sarah (Frederick). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
