He was predeceased by: his parents, Elaine Huber and Lawson L. Grubbs, Sr.; and his son Matthew Grubbs. He is survived by: his sons, Joshua Grubbs (Brooke), Michael Grubbs (Kayla) and Jonathan Grubbs; his grandchildren, Aaliyah, Lily, Gwen and Jasper; his sisters, Susanna Beckman and Ruth Mecum; his aunt Sharon Goscinski (John); his close friend Betty Ann Knapp; and his former wife Janet Balentine Grubbs.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Lexington (415 Barr Rd, Lexington, SC 29072).
