He is survived by: his wife Melody Black Steele; his children, Cody Steele and Angie Derrenbacher (Billy); his siblings, Lester Steele, Alvin Steele (Debbie), Gloria Wilson (Ronnie) and Christy Steele; his grandchildren, Daisy D. Sheldon (Caleb), Maddie Dooley (Devin) and Maverick Steele; and his great grandchild Luke Sheldon.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Old Lexington Baptist Church (800 Old Lexington Rd, Leesville, SC 29070). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at the Old Lexington Baptist Church Cemetery (800 Old Lexington Rd, Leesville, SC 29070).
