He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Jackson and Mildred Gutherie Jackson; his wife Jean Jackson; his daughters, LeAnn Melvin and Clara Bowers; and his brother Perry Jackson.
He is survived by: his daughter Dana Parks (Robert); his sister Cheryl Emery (Eddie); his grandchildren, Brittany Bowers, Emily Parks, Russell Derrick (Nichole), Max Melvin (Lindsey) and Alex Melvin; his great grandchildren, Julianne, Ellie, Macie, Tyler, Ethan, Avery and Jackson; his pet Ellie; and his close friend Randy Anderson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
