He was predeceased by: his sister Millie Everitt; and his sons, Eddy Steele and Michael Steele. He is survived by: his wife Betty L. Steele; his daughters, Donna (Scott McClaran) and Sandy (Nelson Hendrix); his grandchildren, Katie McClaran, Amanda McClaran, Haven Hendrix, Harliann Hendrix, Trinity McClaran and Harmony Hendrix; his great grandchild Kali Bowman; his siblings-in-law, Andrena, Don Garland, Ruthie and Ron Padgett; his brother Edward Jones; and his brother-in-law Jansen Everitt.
