He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry L. Goodwin and Mittie A. Goodwin; and his siblings, Charles, Perry, Donald Goodwin and Listina Goodwin.

He is survived by: his wife Joanne Light Goodwin; his sisters, Georgia Fogle and Catherine Hutto; his children, Sabrina Collins (Kelly), Lisa Spence, Stephanie Morris (Ken) and Kevin Goodwin; and his grandchildren, Celeste Mills, Taylor Spence, Jordan Collins, Gage Goodwin, Jakson Spence, Cameron Morris, Grayson Collins and Caleb Morris.
