He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jessica Jeffcoat (Terry), Craig Frye, Stacey Jeffcoat, Glen Jeffcoat (Holly), Matthew Frye, Tyler Backman, Caleb Backman, Tabitha Backman, Crystal Frye and Christopher Backman; and his great grandchildren, Andrew Jeffcoat, Christopher Rish, Halle Frye, Hunter Lester, Mallory Frye and Ava Matthews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mr. Backman's name to Lexington Church of God, 1331 Nazareth Rd., Lexington, SC 29073.
