We are sad to announce that on December 15, 2024, at the age of 82, David P. Atkinson (Lexington, South Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Pliny Atkinson and Lena Atkinson; and his siblings, Elise Purucker, Ivy Atkinson, Ila, Flynn, Topsy "Tootie" Hendrick, Oris McInnes, Sara Hayes and Nello.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Atkinson; his daughters, Kayla Arsi (Wendell) and Kathy Sweat (Tom); his sisters, Juanita "Nig" Hyman, Shirley Graham, Jean Atkinson and Joyce Atkinson; his grandchildren, Anna Cary (Spencer), Drew Arsi (Katie), Alex Leaphart (Taylor), Adam Arsi, Laura Sweat, Amy Sweat, Lydia Sweat and Ava Sweat; and his great grandchildren, Ellie, Sawyer, Bridgers, Karis, Livingston, Montgomery, Ronnie Ann, Boone and Callahan. He is also survived by his family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Romans at Lexington Presbyterian Church.
