He was predeceased by: his parents, George Eugene Mitchum and Ethel Shumpert Mitchum; and his siblings, Edward, Robert, Leo, Jessie, Bessie and Annette.
He is survived by: his wife Robin Keisler Mitchum; his children, John Keisler (Mandy), Crystal Simmers (Bailey) and Daylan Mitchum (Starr-Marie); his grandchildren, Bubba, Alana, Everleigh and Amita; and his sisters, Betty Mainprize (Denise) and Margaret Kennerly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church (1273 Calks Ferry Rd, Lexington, SC 29073). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at the St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery (1273 Calks Ferry Rd, Lexington, SC 29073).
