He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus William Sturkie Sr. and Doris Hutchinson Sturkie; his wife Bennie Faye Sturkie; his siblings, Judy Newton, Gail Breedlove, Marie "Micky" Sturkie and Rufus W Sturkie Jr.; and his children, Arthur W. Sturkie Jr., Karen Lynn Sturkie and Melissa Gail Sturkie.
He is survived by: his siblings, Richard Sturkie and Teresa Allen (Phil); his daughter Doris S. Horsley; his grandchildren, Ashley Hayden (Chad), Amber Buckley (Jason), Arthur W. Sturkie III, Kristina Belger (Mark), Courtney Day (Shane), DJ Horsley, Jennifer Thurman (Brandin), Cody Sturkie (Kaitlyn) and Dalton Sturkie (Taylor); and his great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Aaliyah, Paige, Kaitee, Aurora, Liam, Alex, Layla, Callie and Mia.
