She was predeceased by: her parents, Gertrude Powell and Howard Powell; her daughter Karen Garner; and her siblings, Deborah Pender, Mary Whisenant, Linda Powell, Travis Powell and Howard Powell.
She is survived by: her children, Katherine Fritz (Charles) and John Garner; her brothers, Hallie Powell (Pat) and Roger Powell (Cindy); and her grandchildren, Michelle Moreland (Beau), Chad Porter, Jessica Wright, Lorne Porter (Merideth), Alex Wright, Audrey Bolick and Madison McCormak. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association in Katherine Powell's honor.
