He was predeceased by: his siblings, Leroy, Ralph, Otis, Steve, Gerald, Donnie Pilot, Pauline Foster, Gertrude Senterfeit, Catherine Burton and Viola Jones.
He is survived by: his significant other Jane Beverly Pilot; his brother Stanley Pilot; his son Joe Pilot (Dale); his stepsons, Ron, Scott Franklin and John Creasy (Lori); and his grandchildren, Matt Pilot (Danelle), Stephanie Bramlett (Doug), Robin Gooldy (David), Hannah Rose and Kristen Miller (Kyle). He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VFW Post 6740 Auxiliary to help maintain the Post and its grounds.
