He is survived by: his wife Jan Shealy Barnes; his children, Nicholas "Nick" Carol Barnes (Bridget Stone) and Sallie Mackenzie Barnes; and his grandchildren, Lane Barnes, Cheyenne Barnes, Kinsley Brunson and Layla Brunson.
