He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul John and Barbara Self Martinek of Laurens; and his son John Paul Martinek. He is survived by: his daughters, Amanda Bragg and Caroline Martinek; his siblings, Timothy Martinek (Nancy) of Maryville, TN, Michael Martinek of Laurens and Susan Martinek Mattison (Bill) of Lexington; his grandchildren, Lane Bragg, Lilly Bragg, Ava Garrett, Riley Jacks and Aiden Cogsdill; his fiancée Lynda Hudson Workman (family: Kayli Smith); and his children, Emmie Smith, Maddie Smith and Brady Cox (Tara).
A graveside service was held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery (499 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Laurens, SC 29360). Visitation was held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
