He was predeceased by: his parents, Sorrell McDowell and Doris Hughes McDowell. He is survived by: his sibling Palmetto; his uncles, James A. "Jim" Hughes and Billy McDowell (Sara) of Talladega, AL; and his aunt Nell Finley (Henry) of Greenwood.
