She was predeceased by: her mother Rosa Mae Rice McGowan. She is survived by: her father Robert Lee McGowan, Sr.; her sons, Akevius McGowan and Kemarion McGowan; her siblings, Robert McGowan, Jr. (Lucy), Jamie McGowan, Jason McGowan (Tanist), Anthony McGowan, Joshua McGowan (Alicia), Shirley McGowan, Stephanie McGowan (Rakim) and Sabrina Carwise; her aunt Jannie Rice; her uncle Izell McGowan; her great-aunt Elizabeth Rice; her cousins, Melissa Thompson and Beverly McGowan Jones; and her close friend Curtis Shippy of Laurens, SC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
