He was predeceased by: his parents, John Major and Carrie Troutman Howell; and his siblings, Thomas Earl Howell, Neal Howell, Roberta Hyler, Dorothy Hill, Ruth Wicker and Mildred Howell.
He is survived by: his niece Karen Gillion. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
