He was predeceased by: his father William James "Jimmy" Franks. He is survived by: his mother Alice Faith Franks of Laurens; his sons, James Robert Franks (Larren) of Pacolet, SC, Benjamin Thomas Franks (Jordan) of Laurens and William Shell Franks (Baylee) of Laurens; his sister Tina Franks Fulmer of Laurens; his grandchildren, Harper Fay Franks, Keaton Ryker Franks, Bentley Chase Fowler, Elleigh Grayce Franks, Colton Thomas Franks, Savannah Rose Franks and Thomas Robert Franks; his mother-in-law Cathy Rearden McMahan of Gray Court; his sisters-in-law, Carol McMahan Barnes (Jason) and Amy McMahan of Mauldin; his nieces and nephews, Autumn Fulmer Davis (Corey) of Laurens, Alicia Faith Fulmer of Laurens, Taelor Jordyn McMahan of Mauldin, Nelson Matthew Chambers, Noah Hunter Chambers and Evan Michael Wood of Mauldin; and his cousin Benji Hunter. He is also survived by friends; and his special lap companion.
