He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Knox and Claudia Andrews Knox Best; his stepfather James R. Best; and his daughter Tammy Rene Knox. He is survived by: his wife Martha "Penny" Barrett Knox; and his siblings, Carolyn Palmore (Murrel) of Sandston, VA and James Ronald Best of Cross Hill.
