With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marianne Chambers Bower (Laurens, South Carolina), born in Toledo, Ohio, who passed away on February 21, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clare Alfred and Lois Marie Welch Chambers; and her sister Barbara Carpenter. She is survived by: her children, Mark David Bower (Elizabeth) of Columbia, SC, Libby Bower Bell (Philip) of Greenwood, SC, Sally Bower Wienecke (Matthew) of Columbia, SC and Jonathan Craig Bower; her brother Bruce Chambers of Dearborn, MI; and her grandchildren, Jaclynn Bower Goings (Travis), Catherine Bell Howze (Travis), Jessica Bower, Rebecca Bell, Julianne Bower Schmidt (Chris), John Bell (Mallory), Anna Bower, Erin Bower and Claire Bower Fontaine (Jeff). She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request that any memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church of Laurens, SC, Boy Scout Troop #339 (First Presbyterian Church), Martha Franks Retirement Community, or a charity of one's choice.
