He was predeceased by: his parent Eugene Patterson; his sons, Jackie E. Patterson, Jr. and Marty Patterson; and his sister Terry Thompson. He is survived by: his spouse Debra Lynn Simmons Patterson; his parent Margaret Davenport Damm; his sons, James David Patterson of Laurens and Nicholas Adam Patterson (Nichole) of Enoree; his grandchildren, Caleb Lee Patterson, Peyton Troy Patterson, Jayce Patterson, Jackie E. Patterson, III, Shana Patterson and Kevin Patterson; and his brother Michael Oswalt of Woodruff.
