He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Ruff Brooks and Hattie Crumpton Brooks; and his siblings, Preston, Malcolm, Furman Brooks, Ruby Brooks and Louise Masters.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Linda Jones of Saluda, Annette Moore of Greenwood, Roy Brooks of Greenwood and James Masters of Newberry; and his cousin Kenneth Brooks of Newberry.
