He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Parrison Dixon, Sr. and Inez Gainey Dixon; his daughter Pamela Payton; and his siblings, Van Colon Hopkins, Earl Dixon, Dianne Catoe and Valerie Hopkins.
He is survived by: his children, Robert "Bobby" Newman (Teri) of Spartanburg, Becky O'Riley (Butch) of Missouri, Anita Dixon of Spartanburg and Angela Franklin of Inman; and his brother Don Dixon of Hartsville. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens (500 W Main St, Laurens, SC 29360).
