He was predeceased by: his wife Dr. Emily Trout Owens; and his parents, Jennings Allen Owens and Mary Wylodine Owens. He is survived by: his son Clay Owens; his brother Jennings Owens; his niece Judi Baxley; and his siblings-in-law, Dr. Kathy Trout, Crystal Baker, Douglas Trout and Robert Trout.
