He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bethea and Gertrude McKenzie Bethea; and his brothers, Bobby Alton Bethea and Ronnie Bethea. He is survived by: his mother-in-law Betty Jean Berry; his sons, James "Wyman" Bethea (Carolyn) of Dillon and William "Sheldon" Bethea (Shelley) of Latta; his grandsons, Ian Bethea and Eli Bethea; and his brothers, Gary Bethea (Janice) and Danny Mac Bethea. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
