He is survived by: his parents, Alpheus Victor Bethea Jr. and Bess Partridge Bethea; his wife Rose Merry Farmer Bethea; his children, Wendy Bethea Carey (Brian) of Spartanburg and Andrew Bethea (Ann) of Latta; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Carey, Caroline Carey, Patrick Carey, Nicholas Bethea (Nic), Philip Bethea, Jackson Bethea, Madison Oakes and Morgan Oakes; and his brother Robert P Bethea (Leslie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
