He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jean Gowan Hyder and Joe Hyder (Brenda Metcalf Hyder); his children, Amber Metcalf of Kodak, TN, Reba Smith of Cleveland and Ricky Smith of Campobello, SC.; his grandchildren, Alexa (Tyler Reno), Elizabeth Gist, Kimora Gist and Noah Gist; and his great grandchildren, Tyler Reno Jr., Aleigha Reno, Khloe Reno, Novalee Reno and Ember Reno.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Petty Funeral Home (124 S 562, Landrum, SC 29356). A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Redeemed Baptist Church Cemetery (1000 S Blackstock Rd, Landrum, SC 29356).
