He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleatus H. Chitwood and Penola Greene Chitwood; his former wife Elsie Martin Chitwood; his daughter Karen Chitwood; and his siblings, Ester Chitwood, Burlin Chitwood and Bobby Joe Chitwood.
He is survived by: his spouse Malorie Green Chitwood; his children, Phyllis Spicer (Michael), Kevin Chitwood and Larry Chitwood (Goldie); his grandchildren, Brandy Davis and Brian Chitwood; his great grandchildren, Claudia Painter and Alex Davis; and his siblings, Marvetta Stott, Shirley Moore, Katherine Goode and Jimmy Chitwood (Patti).
